Purpose:Provide a broad range of faculty and instructional support services focused on integrating technology to enhance and transform teaching and learning. Work with faculty to ensure the effective utilization of technology, using instructional design principles, through consultation, workshops, and the selection, design, production and implementation of instructional technology solutions to promote student success.
I. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Assist faculty to integrate technology into their courses by blending technology resources with effective pedagogical strategies.

II. Specific Responsibilities(representative examples of tasks or projects related to the essential duties listed above) will include, but not be limited to: - Assist faculty to integrate technology into their courses by blending technology resources with effective pedagogical strategies.
- Consult to identify instructional development needs.
- Identify appropriate existing resources.
- Recommend technology solutions to meet instructional goals and objectives.
- Assist in development and implementation of online course materials and student technology assignments.
- Share best practices on assessing technology efforts.
- Provide classroom and lab support to faculty and students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Promote, enable, and expand use of instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning
- Create, maintain, and assist with digital video, web development, blogs, and wikis.
- Support faculty transitioning to hybrid/blended/flipped and fully online courses.
- Advise on innovation opportunities using mobile learning technologies.
- Promote instructional technology to faculty through a variety of activities, including faculty forums, brown bags, and vendor demos.
- Develop long-term collaborative partnerships with faculty.

- Training and instruction
- Design and develop instruction and instructional materials for individual as well as team-delivered instruction.
- Plan, develop, conduct and evaluate hands-on instruction, including one-on-one and small group sessions, in-class student training, and a variety of faculty technology workshops.

- Creating and supporting electronic resources
- Develop and maintain instructional technology resources, e.g., Wiki FAQs.
- Support use of enterprise tools, including LMS, ePortfolio, iClicker, Second Life, iTunes U, Google Apps for Education, and Media Wiki.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Project Management and consulting
- Meet with faculty on one-time and on-going basis to consult.
- Assemble Information Services resources to collaborate on projects, e.g., Library IRS, or Web Applications support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Plan for future developments and use of technology in instruction
- Stay current in field w/journals, online resources, networking with colleagues, and attending conferences, etc.
- Share expertise with associates in department and Information Services.
- Participate in Information Services? project and functional teams as appropriate to guide and plan for future technology resources.
- Champion use of instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Technical Support
- Provide administrative/user support for LMS, Wikis, Blogs, iTunesU, Second Life, Google Apps for Education, and ePortfolio.
- Provide multimedia hardware/software expertise and production support.
- Assist in support of Multimedia Lab.
- Assist faculty in using presentation systems, classroom response systems, and mobile technologies in the classroom.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures.
- Train and supervise student assistants.
- Collaborate with appropriate technical support in IT and Media Services to provide above.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
IV. Qualifications(minimum required; maximum preferred):
- Professional:
- Master's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or equivalent appropriate academic preparation, plus 3 - 5 years relevant experience in an educational setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design principles including performance-based outcomes assessments.
- Extensive and successful record of working with faculty in higher education, with demonstrated ability to understand and interpret educational needs and develop effective instructional media solutions, working projects from concept through completion.
- Demonstrated competence in written and oral communication and experience designing tutorials, workshops, and online learning materials.
- Demonstrated competence in presentation and teaching, both one-on-one and in-class setting.
- Extensive experience and proficiency with a variety of instructional technologies, including LMS, multimedia authoring/production tools (e.g., iMovie, Garage Band, Windows Movie Maker, Final Cut); construction of web sites (e.g., Dreamweaver, WordPress, Drupal), web programming, web communication tools, graphic applications (e.g., Photoshop, Picasa) and design; social media, mobile technologies and Apps; and database design (MySQL).
- (Highly desirable) Experience using Web technologies, including XHTML, CSS, and PHP.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify software application problems and implement solutions, and experience working in a multi-platform Mac and Windows environment.
- Solid experience with Internet technologies, TCP/IP tools, SHFTP, and Remote Desktop.
- (Highly desirable) Proven track record in project planning and project management.

- Ability to work effectively and communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel as well as a diverse population of students, faculty and staff.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy (often chaotic) and demanding information services environment, while maintaining sense of humor.
- Responsible and dependable with good attendance and work habits.
