Anthropology of the Middle East —taught by Laura Bjawi-Levine This course is an anthropological introduction to the Muslim Middle East and North Africa (MENA), broadly perceived geographically from Morocco to Iran, and examines the various peoples who live in the region and explores issues of religion, gender relations, conflict and revolution, migration and globalization. Film media will highlight the cultural and socio-political life in the contemporary Middle East. |
