     Revised Camino with Mass

About the Celebration

The 3rd Annual Camino de los Muertos takes place on Saturday, November 1, 2025 on the campus of Santa Clara University from 5pm - 9pm. 

This year's event will also include a special All Saints Day Mass (in Spanish), which will take place at 4pm inside Mission Santa Clara.

The event, which was first held in November 2023, is a collaboration with the Mexican Consulate of San Jose, Bay Area's Univision 14 and Santa Clara University. It is designed to promote, preserve and share one of the most colorful, but the most emotive traditions that the Mexican community offers to the world, such as the Día de los Muertos festivity, declared as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO.

The Camino de los Muertos is festive community atmosphere with live music, Catrina competition, cultural foods and a magnificent tour of the altars to commemorate and honor our dearly departed loved ones.  The event is Free and open to the entire community.

If you’re coming from U.S. Highway 101:

  • Take the De La Cruz Boulevard/Santa Clara exit.
  • Follow De La Cruz Boulevard towards El Camino Real (stay in the right lane).
  • When De La Cruz Boulevard splits, follow the right split over the overpass.
  • Turn right on Lafayette Street staying in the right turn lane.
  • Turn right at El Camino Real.
  • The main entrance to Santa Clara University will be on the right-hand side of the road.

If you are coming from Interstate 880:

  • Take The Alameda exit.
  • Travel north on The Alameda.
  • The Alameda will become El Camino Real.
  • The main entrance to Santa Clara University will be on the left-hand side of the road.

If you’re coming from Interstate 280:

  • Take Interstate 880 north toward Oakland.
  • Exit at The Alameda.
  • Turn left on The Alameda.
  • The Alameda will become El Camino Real.
  • The main entrance to Santa Clara University will be on the left-hand side of the road.

Si viene desde la autopista U.S. 101:

  • Tome la salida De La Cruz Boulevard/Santa Clara.
  • Siga De La Cruz Boulevard hacia El Camino Real (manténgase en el carril derecho).
  • Cuando De La Cruz Boulevard se bifurque, siga la bifurcación derecha sobre el paso elevado.
  • Gire a la derecha en Lafayette Street y permanezca en el carril de giro derecho.
  • Gire a la derecha en El Camino Real.
  • La entrada principal a la Universidad de Santa Clara estará en el lado derecho de la carretera.

Si vienes desde la Interestatal 880:

  • Tome la salida a La Alameda.
  • Diríjase hacia el norte por La Alameda.
  • La Alameda se convertirá en El Camino Real.
  • La entrada principal a la Universidad de Santa Clara estará en el lado izquierdo de la carretera.

Si vienes de la Interestatal 280:

  • Tome la Interestatal 880 norte hacia Oakland.
  • Salga en La Alameda.
  • Gire a la izquierda en La Alameda.
  • La Alameda se convertirá en El Camino Real.
  • La entrada principal a la Universidad de Santa Clara estará en el lado izquierdo de la carretera.
