💻 Do this before Orientation: Workday onboarding required
Many students have not yet completed their Workday onboarding steps, which has resulted in holds being placed on their accounts. All onboarding steps must be completed to enroll in Fall Quarter classes.
Please take care of this as soon as possible - or double-check that everything has been completed by logging into Workday and clicking the inbox icon in the top right corner. If these steps aren't finished before your Orientation session, you won't be able to register for classes and will need to wait until September.
Note: If you have not yet turned 18, a parent or guardian signature is required for the Annual Online Agreement, which is one of the action items needed to release the registration hold.

💵 Student Money Matters
There are a number of financial matters to be aware of as you begin your college journey. Here are a few campus-specific things to help you get started:
- Financial Responsibility - Students are responsible for all charges billed to their account and for knowing payment deadlines, regardless of who pays the bill. Information on deadlines and policies is available online, and the One Stop is available to answer any questions you have (follow them on Instagram: @scu_onestop). You can also refer to the letter mailed to your home address in early July.
- If you are attending a September Orientation session, your billing statement will show estimated tuition charges since you will not be enrolled in classes at the time of billing.
- The Fall bill is available August 3, with a payment deadline of August 21. If your parents, legal guardian, or other supporter will be paying the bill on your behalf, here are instructions to set up an authorized payer in Workday.
- Be sure to accept your financial aid in Workday by July 24 so it is properly reflected on your August 1 billing statement.
📝 Student Immunization Records Due August 1
As part of Santa Clara's commitment to caring for the whole person, we offer a variety of campus resources for student health, counseling, and well-being. One important onboarding step is submitting your immunization records.
- New students are required to submit their immunization information through the My Student Health Portal, accessible via the MySCU Portal.
- Please review all of the immunization requirements for incoming students.
- If you have received the first dose of the Meningococcal B vaccine, you may request an extension for the second dose by emailing cowellcenter@scu.edu.
- The deadline for submitting immunization records is August 1. Failure to meet this deadline will result in a hold being placed on your registration, which will prevent you from making changes to your class schedule.
👉 ICYMI: Immersions and Excursions
Are you interested in getting to know other incoming students before classes begin? Do you enjoy getting involved in your local community or exploring the great outdoors? If you’re interested, you can learn more about these trips on our webpage.
- The deadline to apply for the Immersion Trip is July 20, 2026.
- The online sign-up lottery form for Adventure Trips opens on July 6 and closes on July 27.
👉 ICYMI: Second Language Intake Assessment
Students in the College of Arts & Sciences and the Leavey School of Business must demonstrate proficiency in a second language as part of our core curriculum. Learn more about the proficiency requirement for your intended major, the nine languages available at SCU, and the language placement process. Instructions on how to satisfy the requirement can be found in the middle section of the page
👉 ICYMI: Set up your ACCESS Credential ASAP
The ACCESS mobile credential is Santa Clara University's official campus ID. It is used to access your residence hall and room, laundry, the Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation Center, and so much more. The credential also stores your meal plan, keeping everything you need conveniently in one place.
- Check your SCU email account for a message from ACCESS@scu.edu with the subject “Welcome to SCU” for directions on how to set up your credential.
- If you cannot find this message, email access@scu.edu for support.
Jesuit Values - Finding God in All Things
Jesuit education provides opportunities for students to find purpose and connections as an integral part of learning and campus life. The Jesuit value of finding God in all things encourages us to find the sacred in everyday moments and to find goodness in each other.
Understanding our interconnectedness helps us work together to build a more compassionate world. While at Santa Clara, you’ll have many opportunities to explore our shared Ignatian values and understand how they integrate with your own values, spirituality, and faith.
