A Message from the Deans and Associate Provost for International Programs
Dear Members of the Santa Clara University Community,
Many of us have read the news or heard the challenges facing the Republic of India as it grapples with an unrelenting second wave of COVID-19. With over 350,000 new COVID cases every day during the last week, India is experiencing an exponential rise in the spread of the disease, and its devastating impact. This international health crisis hits particularly close to home as many of our SCU community – students, staff, and faculty – have close ties to India. We understand the stress and anxiety many are feeling at this time over the US embassy closures, concerns about travel restrictions, and amid questions about vaccines. This is in addition to the grief and loss that this recent outbreak is causing. As we carry India and her people in our thoughts and prayers we also want to remind you of resources available here on campus to support students and other members of our community during this difficult time.
Students in need of assistance and support are encouraged to reach out to:
International Students and Scholars
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
Campus Ministry
Office of Student Life - Complete the Student of Concern reporting form.
Faculty and Staff are encouraged to take advantage of the Employee Assistance Program. It provides confidential professional counseling, information, and referral services to faculty, staff, and their families. Please take care of yourselves and your family and friends.
In solidarity with the people of India,
Susan Popko
