Meet James M. Glaser, Provost and Executive Vice President
As the chief academic officer in the University, the provost has executive responsibilities for overseeing all undergraduate and graduate educational programs and faculty research. Provost Glaser's portfolio also includes student life, enrollment management, and two centers of distinction. The provost ensures that the educational programs and offerings reflect the University's mission and values.

Community Read
The Community Read program provides an opportunity for campus-wide participation in activities that create a common intellectual experience in curricular and co-curricular activities.
Collaborative Governance
The Provost and Executive Vice President plays a key role in the University's collaborative governance system. He sits on the University Coordinating Committee, and works with several University Policy Committees, as well as the Faculty Senate and other standing committees to fulfill Santa Clara's core teaching, research, and service functions. When the need arises, the Provost may commission, or the Faculty Senate Council request, advisory groups or task forces to provide counsel or explore particular issues.

Each fall, the SCU community comes together for Convocation to kick off the academic year.
