The Sustainable Business Institute offers undergraduate students multiple pathways to engage with sustainability through academic, experiential, and leadership opportunities. From innovative coursework to hands-on learning experiences, students develop the knowledge and skills to drive positive change.

With the support of the Ciocca Center and SBI, Innovation Fellows focus on finding a pain point on our Santa Clara campus and using design thinking methods and empathy to identify and implement solutions.

An interdisciplinary minor exploring the complex world of food systems through cultural, sustainability, and innovation lenses, preparing students for careers in food policy, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.

The Feeding the World pathway examines the connections between food production, consumption, hunger, poverty, and the environment. Students explore how resource availability, income, and environmental factors impact food distribution and sustainability, with a focus on fragile environments and agriculture’s role in reducing global hunger and poverty.
