25-26 Peer Advisors

  • Jeni Deneen is graduating in 2026 with a major in Neuroscience and minors in Biology and Chinese and Sinophone Studies. Following a Pre-Physician Assistant track, she is particularly interested in OB-GYN and Pediatrics. At Santa Clara University, she serves as co-president of Health Professions Peer Advising and is a member of the pre-health sorority Rho Psi Eta. She currently works as an EMT for a Bay Area IFT ambulance company. Her previous experience includes conducting research in a developmental neurobiology lab, working as a community facilitator for residence life, volunteering at Stanford Hospital, and serving as a lab technician at a fertility clinic. Outside of academics, Jeni enjoys watching movies, trying new foods, and caring for her plants.

  • Karis is graduating in 2026, majoring in Neuroscience with minors in Biology and Gerontology. Following the Pre-Med path, Karis has interests in anesthesiology and surgery. At Santa Clara, she is the Co-President of HPPA, does research with the Brain & Memory Care Lab and the LCCN Lab, works at the Office of Accessible Education (OAE), and is a Healthcare Innovation and Design Fellow. She has completed research at NYU and Lewis & Clark College, and also volunteers at Stanford Hospital. Outside of the classroom, Karis enjoys cooking, skiing, and reading.

  • Amalia Thompson is graduating in 2027, majoring in Public Health Science and Biology, with a minor in Spanish. Following a pre-med path, Amalia has interests in pediatrics and working within Spanish speaking communities. At Santa Clara University, she is a PR chair for HPPA, co-president of SCU Belles Service Organization, tutors for the Drahmann Center, works in Dr. Wheeler’s research lab, and is part of the Markkula Healthcare Ethics Internship. She previously has done volunteering at Children’s Hospital Colorado, has worked as a skincare consultant at Kiehl’s, and has helped start a theatre outreach program within Denver Public Schools. Outside of class, Amalia enjoys movies, concerts, and eating lots of good food.

  • Amay is graduating in 2028, majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Biology. Following the Pre-Med path, Amay has interests in Neurology and Pediatrics. At Santa Clara, he is a part of the HPPA PR committee, works as a Peer Health Educator at the Wellness Center, and is the Secretary/Social Media Lead for the Neuro Club on campus. He also works as an Optometrist Technician at the Optometry Center of Pleasanton, and has worked as a volunteer at Sutter Health Eden Medical Center. Outside of the classroom, Amay enjoys developing his novel series, Finesse Destiny, making LEGO stop-motion animations, video FX editing, producing graphic design/art, and spending time with friends and family.

  • Annie is graduating in 2027, majoring in Public Health Science and Biology, with a minor in Religious Studies. Following the Pre-Med path, Annie has interests in pediatrics, OB/GYN, and cardiology. At Santa Clara, she does research in the RESS Lab, is a Hackworth Fellow, and is involved in Run Club. She has completed research at the Hardesty Center for Clinical Research and Neuroscience, and also volunteers at St. John’s Hospital. Outside of the classroom, Annie enjoys running, cooking, and painting.

  • Gabbie is graduating in 2028, majoring in Biology and Neuroscience with minors in Japanese Studies and Biotechnology. Following a pre-medicine path, she has interests in dermatology and neurology. At Santa Clara University, she is a part of HPPA, the community service chair for Rho Psi Eta pre-health sorority, the treasurer of SCU Global Medical Brigades, the mentorship chair for the University Honors Program Advisory Council, the media chair for Ka Manaʻo O Hawaiʻi Club, works as a Chemistry TA, and participates in research in quantum computational chemistry in the Grotjahn lab. She has worked as an MA intern and completed work in population preventative health as well as volunteering at a dementia home. Outside of school, she enjoys staying active and time with her friends, family, and pets!

  • Isabella is graduating in 2028, majoring in Biology with minors in Biotechnology and Chemistry. Following the pre-med path, Isabella has interests in reconstructive/cosmetic surgery. At Santa Clara, she is a LEAD scholar and is involved in Biophysical research with Dr. Grace Stokes. Her work experience includes volunteering at Good Samaritan Hospital, where she assists Nurses with patient care, and working as a junior medical assistant at a dermatology clinic. Outside of the classroom, Isabella enjoys spending time with friends and family, getting sweet treats, and playing with her pets!

  • Jocelyn Madrigal is graduating in 2026, majoring in Biology with a minor in Spanish. Following the Pre-Dental path, Jocelyn is interested in earning her DDS/DMD and possibly specializing in Pediatric Dentistry. At Santa Clara, she is a LEAD Peer Mentor, Spanish Tutor, Anatomy Lab TA, cell biology research assistant, health communication research assistant, and a Student Ambassador. She also has experience shadowing at various dental offices and working as a dental assistant at Dr. Gilbert Grio DDS. Outside of academics and healthcare, Jocelyn enjoys running, going to the beach, and spending time with family!

  • Josh is graduating in 2026 with a double major in Biology and Public Health Science. Following the Pre-Med path, Josh has interests in ophthalmology, dermatology, and emergency medicine. At Santa Clara University, he serves as one of the public relations chairs of HPPA, a Library Help Desk assistant, the public relations officer for SCU EMS, an Honors class representative, and is involved in undergraduate research with Dr. Bayless. His work experience includes working as a dental assistant and surgical coordinator. He also volunteers at Stanford Hospital and Family Supportive Housing. Outside of the classroom, Josh enjoys trying new food, playing basketball, and hiking.

  • Kimberly is graduating in 2027, majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Following the Pre-Pharmacy track, Kimberly has interests in pharmacology and drug development. At Santa Clara, she serves as the Operations Chair for HPPA and is a member of Delta Epsilon Mu. Her work experience includes being an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Dr. Brian McNelis’ organic chemistry lab, volunteering at Huntington Hospital and a summer research program at Keck Graduate Institute. She also earned her Pharmacy Technician license over the summer. Outside the classroom, Kimberly enjoys doing ballet, playing piano, and baking.

  • Michael is graduating in 2026 with a major in Biology and a minor in Public Health. Following the Pre-Med path, Michael has interests in psychiatry, anesthesiology, and surgery. At Santa Clara University, he works as a research assistant in the Guiton Lab, a Violence Prevention Educator at the Wellness Center, the operations officer of SCU EMS, is a member of TriBeta, and is a part of the Markkula Center’s Health Care Ethics Internship. His professional experience also includes working as an EMT for Mutual Aid Response Services. He is also a volunteer for Crisis Text Line and supports people in crisis through text. Outside of the school, Michael enjoys cooking, trying new foods, going to the gym, and playing with cats.

  • Muriel is graduating in 2026, majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Biotechnology. Following the Pre-Med path, Muriel has interests in cardiology, thoracics, and surgery. At Santa Clara, she is the Pledge Educator for Rho Psi Eta, she does research on early-stage detection methods for endometrioid cancer in the Biochemistry department, works as a CAS ambassador, volunteers at Kids on Campus, and is in the University Honors Program. She has completed clinical research at SLU, volunteers at the Critical Care Text Line, and volunteers as an EMT in St. Louis County. Outside of the classroom, Muriel enjoys cooking, running, and reading.

  • Ryann is graduating in 2027, majoring in Biology. Following a Pre-Nursing path, Ryann is interested in attending an entry level masters program in nursing after graduation. At Santa Clara she is a part of HPPA and is involved with LEAD. She interned with Girls on the Run Bay Area through Health Career Connections and volunteers at various places. She also coaches a club volleyball team with a local club. Outside of the classroom she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family.

  • Tosei is graduating in 2026 with a major in Biology and a minor in Public Health. Following the Pre-PA and Pre-Med paths, Tosei has interests in surgery and anesthesia. At Santa Clara University, he serves as the experiential chair of HPPA, tutors for the Drahmann Center, is general chemistry/biochemistry peer educator, works as a campus EMT, and is involved in undergraduate research with Dr. Brunauer. His professional experience includes time as a medical assistant at urgent care and as a remote clinical translator for a free clinic. He also volunteers at Stanford Hospital and with Crisis Text Line as a mental health counselor. Outside of the classroom, Tosei enjoys playing sports, playing the New York Times games, and sleeping.

  • Will is graduating in 2027, majoring in Biology. On the Pre-Med track, Will is interested in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. At Santa Clara, he is involved in neuroscience research with Dr. Cocas, as well as a member of the Men’s Rowing team. He has shadowed orthopedic surgeons at Evergreen Hospital, and has spent time shadowing a PT at Lake Washington Physical Therapy. He serves as a liaison to Pre-Health student athletes. Outside of school, Will enjoys camping and hiking, cooking, and watching football.

  • Yeseñia is graduating in 2026, she is majoring in Biochemistry with minors in Biotechnology and Biology. Following the Pre-MD path, Yeseñia has interests in neonatal care and intensive care. At Santa Clara, she is involved in HPPA as the Community Cultural Chair, is in the University Honors Program, LEAD Peer Educator, Chem Peer Educator and the Chem Advisory Board. Her work experience includes working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Dr. Brunauer’s lab, caregiver for the elderly and as a past Research Intern at Stanford School of Medicine. She is also a licensed EMT. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys cooking, baking, hanging out with friends and exploring new food.
