The WAVE HPC Center supports research, teaching, and student development at Santa Clara University through a variety of grants, training initiatives, and research opportunities. These programs are designed to expand access to high-performance computing (HPC) resources while helping faculty and students integrate advanced computational tools into their work.
Through these initiatives, WAVE provides funding, mentorship, and hands-on training that allow members of the SCU community to explore innovative research projects, develop new computational skills, and incorporate HPC technologies into the classroom.
WAVE’s programs support a broad ecosystem of computational research and learning, including faculty-led research initiatives, course development programs, student research opportunities, and technical training workshops. Together, these efforts help prepare students and researchers to address complex challenges in a data-driven world.

The WAVE HPC Center offers several programs designed to support different members of the SCU community:
Faculty Opportunities
Programs that support faculty research and curriculum development, including Catalytic Faculty Project Grants and Faculty Course Development initiatives that integrate high-performance computing into teaching and research.
Student Opportunities
Research programs such as the Emerging Research Student Cohort, which provides mentorship, technical support, and stipends for students participating in computational research projects.
Training & Workshops
Skills-based workshops and short courses that help students, faculty, and staff develop the practical knowledge needed to effectively use WAVE’s high-performance computing environment.
