8th Edition: August 14, 2026 - Get Involved at SCU!
Hello, "Get involved!" is one of the most common pieces of advice current students give to incoming students, and for good reason. Getting involved outside of the classroom is a key part of the college experience. In this eighth edition of the Bronco Prep Guide, you'll find information on how new students can explore student organizations and other co-curricular activities at SCU. There are many ways to get involved at SCU through student organizations, leadership opportunities, fellowships, and other co-curricular activities. Here are a few to explore:
Note: This is not an exhaustive list. There are many other ways to get involved at SCU, including through your academic program (school and major) as well as through the university's various centers and departments.
📆Save the Date: Fall Involvement Fair Hosted by the Center for Student Involvement, this event is one of the best opportunities for new students to explore the many ways to get involved in campus life at SCU - with over 200 clubs and organizations represented, there's truly something for everyone!
🚨Fall Quarter Payment Deadline Approaching: August 21, 2026 Billing statements for the Fall Quarter were sent out on August 3rd. Payment is due one week from today, so please be sure to submit it on time through your Workday account. If your parents or family members will be paying the bill on your behalf, please remember to set them up as Authorized Payers. Until this step is completed, they will not be able to access the Authorized Payer portal to make a payment. 📝July Orientation Sessions: Complete the Feedback Survey Thank you to all who attended one of the July Orientation sessions! Please take a few minutes to share your feedback so we can continue making enhancements to the program and ensure that future Broncos have the best Orientation experience possible. All responses are anonymous. 👉 ICYMI: Being a Bronco Series As a new Bronco, you are required to complete the Being a Bronco Series. This six-part series helps incoming students transition to the Santa Clara University (SCU) community. All modules are due by September 7.
👉 ICYMI: Student Immunization Records Overdue As part of Santa Clara's commitment to caring for the whole person, we offer a variety of campus resources for student health, counseling, and well-being. One important onboarding step is submitting your immunization records.
📦 Dreaming of the start of the academic year? Have you started planning for Fall Move-In? Later this month, you'll receive specific information about your move-in day and time. Most students will move in on Friday, September 18, though times are still being finalized. In the meantime, here's a list of what to bring - and what to leave at home! Jesuit Values - Vocation What am I good at? What do I love to do? What should I do with my life? Vocation comes from the Latin vox, meaning voice. “It implies that you are being called by God to a particular state or course of action...We can have multiple vocations; for example, one person could be married, a parent, a teacher, a music minister at church, and a visitor of the sick. The Vocation Pathway, within SCU’s Core Curriculum, will help you answer the questions posed above. Exploring these questions from diverse perspectives, you will develop your own sense of vocation, pursuing a meaningful life, not merely a livelihood. You will reflect on your life to discover your gifts, your talents and strengths, and discern your deepest values to live with greater joy, integrity, and balance. Considering the world’s most pressing needs, you will discover your own path of contribution, developing the clarity, courage, and conviction to make a positive difference in the world. 👀 Looking Ahead: Key Dates and Deadlines There are lots of important deadlines coming up - we recommend you start working on them now!
