Information Services

Information Services supports the university community in their use of technology and information resources.

Information Services is made up of four units: Academic Technology, the Information Security Office, Information Technology, and the University Library.

 

  • Academic Technology

    Academic Technology (Media Services, the Technology Help Desk, Technical Support Services, and Technology Training) supports and facilitates the application of media technology and non-print media resources to support and enhance teaching, learning, scholarship, and administrative services, as well as other campus activities and events.

  • Information Security Office

    The mission of the Information Security Office is to support Santa Clara University’s outstanding undergraduate, graduate, and research programs by protecting the university’s information assets.

  • Information Technology

    Information Technology (IT) provides support for institutional computing and information technology needs. IT supports enterprise computing, networks, and telecommunications.

  • University Library

    The Library advances the University's mission to educate engaged and accomplished citizens through our dynamic services and unique, extensive collections. Our community-focused staff are integral partners in creating and cultivating physical and virtual learning environments for open inquiry and academic excellence.

Reserve Learning Commons Study Rooms
There have been fraudulent ​email messages with attached invoices invoices making the rounds on the Internet. The majority of these emails target colleges and universities and we need to watch out for them. The messages can look very legitimate, even appearing appear to be sent by someone within the college or university who would request an invoice to be paid as part of the normal course of business.  More »

As of late afternoon on November 28, 95% of the network is up and running. Major systems such as eCampus, Camino, the Library's systems, and Digication are all functional. We are currently troubleshooting four issues and we will continue to work on these issues until they are resolved.  More »

The Library is making improvements to the OneSearch interface. A new version of OneSearch will launch on Monday December 14.  More »

From the point that the new Cisco network contract was finalized in early summer, Information Services has been hard at work preparing for the implementation of our new network.   More »

Information Services has secured a site license for Qualtrics, a comprehensive, powerful online survey tool. Any SCU student, faculty member, or staff member can use it and it comes with great support from Qualtrics.  More »

Over the next month, IS will undertake two important initiatives: one will dramatically improve our cyber security, and the other will significantly enhance customer service for about 1,000 of our users by eliminating the need for us to physically touch their computers any time we need to patch software or change vendors for University-mandated software (e.g., antivirus software).  More »
