Information Services was formed to position the University to more effectively and efficiently support teaching, learning, scholarship and University operations by providing access to, facilitating use of, and managing the collection, processing, storage, maintenance, and preservation of information.
Criteria for guiding the development of an Information Services Division include: improving services to all constituencies; being more proactive in identifying needs of the campus; increasing collaboration and coordination among the units; and increasing opportunities for synergy, a result of getting people in related areas to work together more closely.
