Site license renewed - September 1, 2023

SCU's site license has been renewed as of September 1, 2023 -- follow these instructions from MATLAB to do a manual license refresh. Starting with MATLAB version R2023b, licenses will refresh automatically.

Santa Clara University has a campus-wide license for MathWorks products, including MATLAB, Simulink, and all companion toolboxes. See the complete list of available software on the MathWorks site.

MATLAB is a programming environment for algorithm development, data analysis, visualization, and numeric computation. Simulink is a graphical environment for simulation and Model-Based Design of multidomain dynamic and embedded systems.

Features of the campus-wide license:

  • All SCU faculty, researchers, and students are eligible to download and install these products on their university computers as well as their personally-owned computers
  • One license agreement, centrally managed
  • Access to MATLAB Online
  • Access to training through the SCU MATLAB portal
  • For faculty: MATLAB integration with the Camino (SCU’s branded instance of Canvas LMS) gradebook
  • The commercial use of MathWorks products is not covered by our Campus-Wide License

Mathworks provides extensive resources for teaching with MATLAB and Simulink:

For Faculty: using MATLAB Grader in Canvas

The MATLAB Grader tool allows instructors to create, share, and automatically grade assignments in Camino. It allows them to use rich text, image, hyperlinks, and LaTeX equations in coding problem descriptions. Simply add "MATLAB Grader" as an "External Tool" when creating a new assignment to begin creating custom problems and assignments.

To get support for MATLAB and Simulink

Technical questions, issues, and installation support come directly from the experts at MathWorks. You can review the materials in the Mathworks Help Center, or contact MATLAB & Simulink Support.

MATLAB Onramp is a free, two-hour tutorial that provides hands-on practice sessions and demonstrations. MATLAB Onramp and other tutorials are available on the MathWorks site.
