Vice Provost for Student Life & Dean of Students


Together with her staff, Vice Provost Jeanne Rosenberger provides leadership in developing innovative co-curricular programs and student support services that respond to student needs and campus issues related to student life outside the classroom. As a primary advocate for student participation in the life of the University, she cultivates opportunities for open dialogue that help shape institutional decision making and ensure inclusion of student voices.

Prior to her appointment as Vice Provost, Jeanne served as the University's Dean of Students (1999-2005), Director of the Center for Student Leadership (1997-1999), and Associate Director of the Benson Center and Student Activities (1991-1997). Before coming to Santa Clara in 1991, she worked in Campus Life at California State University at Northridge (1987-1991). She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gonzaga University and a Master of Arts from Bowling Green State University.

We meet students at the intersection of living and learning. Through a culture of care and an inclusive community, we accompany students in their development by promoting student success, well-being, and personal responsibility; and providing transformative opportunities, programs and services.

Strategic Goals

In support of Santa Clara 2020, the Division of Student Life will:

  1. Be the leader among Jesuit institutions in providing targeted transformative experiences for first- and second-year undergraduate
  2. Be known for delivering innovative and remarkable learning opportunities that integrate the intellectual, social and personal development of students throughout their time at Santa
  3. Be the pre-eminent campus voice in advocating for the development and sustainability of an inclusive and respect-filled campus community.
