** Santa Clara University is a selective admission university that admits new students based on potential for academic performance and contribution to the campus community consistent with the mission and Jesuit tradition of the University. Applicants are admitted as full-time, degree seeking students. Santa Clara does not have a part-time undergraduate program and does not enroll non-degree students except under limited conditions.
Entering freshman and transfer students are admitted for the fall term. Students are admitted for winter and spring term only by special exception with the approval of the Provost.
Students are admitted to the University and to a specific school based on the preference indicated on their admission application. Students wishing to change from one school to another at Santa Clara University may apply for this change at the end of their first year of attendance. Permission to make these changes is not guaranteed and is granted at the discretion of the academic dean of the school they will be entering.
