Best Practices for Recruiting at SCU
Employer support of our programs and events is essential to our success and the success of our students. To see the many ways in which employers connect with the Career Center, download the comprehensive Employer Connections report (PDF). Some specific ways an employer can support students include the following:
-
Lunch with a Recruiter
This program allows students the opportunity to answer a question, submitted by you, about your organization. Each student providing a legitimate answer will enter a drawing to win lunch with you or another recruiter at your company. Learn more and sign up.
-
Assist with Resume Reviews
Employers spend an hour meeting with students to offer feedback on the students’ resumes. Contact Courtney Budziak, Assistant Director for Employer Relations.
-
Participate on Panel Presentations
The Career Center often contacts employers to be part of panels on specific career-related topics of interest to students. Contact Elspeth Rossetti, Director.
-
Present Information Sessions
Prior to career fairs and on-campus interviewing, employers often provide information sessions about their organizations to students. Contact Courtney Budziak, Assistant Director for Employer Relations.
-
Etiquette Dinners
During a three-course meal, with guidance from a guest etiquette consultant, students gain knowledge about professional business behavior. In past years, the dinners have often been sponsored by an employer, who provides financial support, is included in the marketing material, and introduces part of the evening. Contact Elspeth Rossetti , Director.
