Class of 2016
|
At SCU, we want to do all that we can to make sure you are prepared to excel academically, socially, and spiritually. This is why we require all new students to attend Orientation. At Orientation, you will meet fellow students, find out which Residential Learning Community you will live in, register for fall classes, learn about our academic and campus programs, and stay overnight in one of our residence halls. The 2012 Summer Orientation dates are now available on our website. You can begin to register on March 1, 2012. All reservations should be made by May 1, 2012. Please remember that Summer Orientation is an academic requirement of the university and all new students must attend. If you have a parent or guest attend with you, they will participate on the same days but in a programs separate from students. When you arrive on campus, there will be over thirty undergraduate Orientation Leaders ready to greet you, answer all of your questions, tell you about classes, campus life, and other exciting opportunities at SCU. All students attending Summer Orientation, including students planning to live off campus in the fall, are expected to stay overnight in the residence halls. This will be a prime opportunity for you to experience Santa Clara's residential life and meet other new students. Students are not permitted to leave campus at any time during the two-day session. All students are charged a one-time $290 program fee, which covers the costs of both Summer Orientation and Welcome Weekend. This fee covers all meals, lodging, materials, publications, activities, and administrative costs. The charge will be posted to your student account shortly after orientation.
