Ashley Barron
Therapist in Residence

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Ashley is one of the four Therapists in Residence at Santa Clara University. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Pepperdine University, along with a Certificate in Conflict Management from the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. She graduated from Santa Clara University’s Counseling Psychology program in 2024 and was a member of the inaugural cohort of MFT trainees at Cowell Center. Following graduation, she spent two years working in community-based mental health through a school-based outpatient program in Morgan Hill, California, providing therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults ages 5–18. She is now in the final stages of obtaining her MFT license. Her clinical experience includes working with anxiety, depression, PTSD, adjustment concerns, and a range of developmental and relational challenges. Her therapeutic approach integrates cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, and relational therapies, while also incorporating mindfulness-based practices, art-based interventions, and parts work to support clients in understanding themselves and navigating challenges in ways that feel meaningful and authentic.

Ashley is passionate about creating a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered in their therapeutic process. She values the opportunity to witness clients’ growth and to support them in identifying their strengths, working toward their goals, and developing a deeper understanding of themselves. She is especially excited to return to Santa Clara University and to the community that played an important role in her professional development. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and her dog, hiking and being outdoors, baking and cooking, and line and swing dancing. She also loves discovering new coffee shops, thrifting, and exploring new cities. A love of travel led her to spend her sophomore year of college studying abroad in Heidelberg, Germany, and she hopes to continue exploring new places whenever she can.
