Andrea Gonzalez
Therapist in Residence

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Andrea is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and first-generation college graduate from Los Angeles, CA. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Global Studies and Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside, and her master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Concordia University Irvine. Before becoming a therapist, Andrea worked in higher education across financial aid, admissions, student affairs, and diversity and inclusion. These experiences sparked her passion for supporting college students and deepened her understanding of the connection between personal well-being, identity, belonging, and academic growth. She later worked as a community-based mental health therapist supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families from diverse backgrounds.

Andrea’s clinical interests include complex trauma, anxiety, ADHD and neurodiversity, identity development, first-generation college experiences, life transitions, and supporting BIPOC communities. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive, drawing from liberation, feminist, and decolonizing frameworks. She strives to create a space where students can show up authentically and without judgment while honoring their identities, experiences, and strengths. Andrea uses an integrative approach that incorporates EMDR, Brainspotting, DBT, mindfulness and somatic practices, narrative therapy, and parts-based work. When meaningful to students, she also welcomes cultural heritage, spirituality, community, and other sources of strength into the therapeutic process.

Outside of work, Andrea enjoys traveling, playing pickleball, spending time in nature, visiting family and friends, exploring new places, and reading a good book.
