Danielle de Haerne
Danielle de Haerne
Assistant Director for Violence Prevention and Programs

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Danielle serves the Wellness Center with a desire to enshrine peer-led positive, inclusive, and community-focused culture change into the undergraduate experience at Santa Clara University. Coming from New Haven, Connecticut, Danielle earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Yale University. She pursued a career in higher education at her alma mater, uncovering a meaningful vocation of forging a path to a campus culture defined by respect and positive opportunities for self-discovery.

Inspired by the Jesuit value of cura personalis, Danielle sees that methodology as the greatest asset for supporting peer-led violence prevention education. Beginning with care for the whole person and teaching skills to express that care outward for one’s community, she hopes to inspire individual students to assume responsibility for their own well-being as well as the well-being of their peers.

Outside of work, Danielle dedicates herself to the care of her two precious cats, editing her first novel, bouldering, and tending to her Animal Crossing island. With family in all four corners of the continent, she might also simply be out of town.
