Graduated!

Our first cohort of alumni- The program celebrates the inaugural class of 2017 Johnson Scholars!

A sunny Sunday morning, current Johnson Scholars surprised the seniors with speeches, memory photo albums, a delicious brunch, and special satin stoles for walking across the graduation stage.

Dylan DeTray, class of 2018, filmed his farewell video while studying abroad in Tokyo with the words, “To all the seniors out there, thank you so much for all the memories we’ve made. You are one of the most incredible groups of people I think I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting… I know you’re going to have so many great things coming into your life soon and I can’t wait to hear all about it.”

The Johnson Scholars Class of 2017 has certainly left behind a legacy. Being the first cohort of Johnson Scholars they have paved the way for future cohorts in building the program. They have served as the first hosts for the first Johnson Scholarship Weekend, Immersion student coordinators, leading retreat sessions, hosting keynote speakers on campus, and have been mentors, guides, and role models in their experiences across campus.

As they head out into the “real world,” our alumni will be master students in Engineering at Stanford University and Santa Clara University, working at Google, volunteering with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Seattle, and continuing opportunities in research labs and field work.

Stay in touch class of 2017! We look forward tohearing about what experiences the future holds for you and seeing you back on campus as a guest speaker or for our annual Holiday party!
