  • Fall Semester

    Housing Services looks forward to welcoming you to campus this fall. Move-In information will be posted during the summer term as details are finalized. All students will receive an email with specific move-in instructions prior to their scheduled move-in date, listed below.

    Important Dates

    • Move-In: Sunday, August 9, 2026, 9:00AM - 4:00PM
    • Move-In Continues: Monday, August 10 - Friday, August 14, during business hours.


    Students must check in by the first day of classes, Monday, August 17, by 8:00AM

Move-In Information Coming Soon

Detailed Move-In information for Santa Clara University will be available at a later date. Students, as well as returning students, will receive specific Move-In instructions approximately one month before their scheduled arrival.

Graduate and Law residence halls remain open and students may continue to access their assigned residence hall during the winter recess.

Many administrative offices and student support services will be closed or will operate with limited hours during the holiday break, including Dining Services; Housing & Residence Life; Mailing Services; Student Health, Counseling and Wellbeing; and the Malley Center. 

  • Spring Semester

    Incoming students with new assignments will receive check-in information in their assignment confirmation email. You will need to have your confirmation email at the time of check-in.  

    Important Dates

    • New Student Move-In: Saturday, January 3 & Sunday, January 4, 2026. 
    • Residence Halls remain open through the Spring Recess. 

During the School of Law Spring Recess at Santa Clara University, from March 8–13, 2027, residence halls remain open and students may continue to access their assigned residence hall.

Information regarding limited services at Side Bar Cafe will be communicated in advance. 

The Housing Contract contracted periods ends following the final examination period for all students each Spring Semester. The contracted period of occupancy ends May 31, 2026. Students beginning new off-campus leases must move-out by June 1, 2026 at 9:00PM. 

Specific Move-Out Information for our resident students will be posted during the Spring 2026 term as it becomes available. All students will receive an email with specific Move-Out information prior to the end of the Housing Contract contracted period end date.

 

  • Summer Housing

    Law students are able to bridge the period between their current housing contract and their upcoming academic year contract. 3L Law students taking the California Bar Examination may opt for an extension to stay on campus through the end of July.

    Important Dates

    • California Bar Extension: June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026
    • Summer Bridge period: June 1, 2026 - August 9, 2026


    Students may be required to move to a different housing assignment before the start of the summer term due to operational needs or a building closure.

A contract extension will be available for School of Law students taking the California Bar Exam on Tuesday, July 28. Law students approved to stay for the California Bar Exam must check out by Friday, July 31, 2026, and vacate their space by 9:00 PM.

Students will apply for the University Summer Graduate Housing Contract and are not required to submit a Housing contract for the upcoming academic year. 

Applications open on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

Law students may apply for a University Summer Graduate Housing Contract to serve as a "bridge" between their current housing contract and their contract for the upcoming academic year. Those who choose to bridge their contract will be assigned to their current housing space for the next academic year.
