Kiplinger’s Ranks Santa Clara University 20th Best Value Among Universities in the West/Southwest

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine ranked Santa Clara University No. 20 on its list of best values among private universities in the West/Southwest for 2015, and No. 38 on its list of best values among private universities nationwide.
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 19, 2014—Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine ranked Santa Clara University No. 20 on its list of best values among private universities in the West/Southwest for 2015, and No. 38 on its list of best values among private universities nationwide.

The rankings measured 1,200 public and private universities based upon their academic competitiveness; student retention rates; four-year graduation rates; academic support; cost and financial aid; and student indebtedness upon graduation.

“This type of ranking is valuable recognition because it is based upon the outcomes of a Santa Clara education," said Michael Sexton, vice president for enrollment management at Santa Clara University.  "We work hard to balance our net costs with unparalleled internship and research opportunities on campus and in the Silicon Valley.  The results show this is a wise investment."

“Our rate of retention for freshmen returning as sophomores – already among the highest in the nation for universities like ours -- recently hit an all-time high of 96.2 percent,” he added.

The complete rankings, including the top schools overall as well as the best values in public schools, private universities and private liberal arts colleges, are available online at kiplinger.com/links/college. The rankings will also appear in the February 2015 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, on newsstands Jan. 6.
