Bronco Network

The Bronco Network is a partnership between the Bronco Bench Foundation and the Santa Clara University Athletic Department. The program was developed to help educate student-athletes on career choices and provide access to companies and individuals within our Bronco Network.

The Bronco Network is a select group of student-athletes who paired with mentors in their desired career or industry. The mentors help the student-athletes find internships, network, and develop skills that optimize their employment opportunities after graduating from Santa Clara University.
  • Bronco Bench Trustee Takes Lead on Student-Athlete Mentorship Program

    Ted Bojorquez '89

Ted, a member of the Bronco Bench Foundation Board of Trustees, was inspired by student-athletes talent and interest in connecting with Broncos outside their direct network. He formulated a plan to get his Bronco network to connect with current Broncos to help them pursue their career passions.

Ted earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Santa Clara University, and currently is on the Board of Trustees for Santa Clara University’s Bronco Bench. He is an activity member of Almaden Valley community where he coaches youth basketball, baseball, and softball.

Will this help me get a job after graduation?

That is the plan. If you are part of Bronco Network and doing everything that the Career Center offers, it will help your chances in finding a job post graduation.

I'm a Freshman, can I still be in the program?

We love that as a freshman, you want to be involved in Bronco Network. However we do not accept freshman into the program. We do suggest you utilize the Career Center and everything they offer (linked in, resume building and Bronco Connect workshops).

I haven't decided on a major, can I still apply?

Absolutely.

Do I need a resume to apply?

Yes, you do. This is your first opportunity to capture our attention and showcase yourself. Utilize the resources at the Career Center if you need help.

I have applied, when do I find out if I was chosen for the program?

You will find out within a month of when the applications are submitted if you were accepted, and if so, your assigned mentor.

Do I get to pick my mentor?

No. The Bronco Network does it's best to match with a mentor that works in your field of interest. It's very important to know what industries you are interested in so we can align you with the appropriate mentor. You will also have access to all the mentors in Bronco Network as you progress through the program.

What is the time commitment during the school year?

That depends on how much you want to utilize and work with your mentor. We do offer a few events throughout the year such as guest speakers and informational interviews.

I am not a varsity student-athlete, can I be in the program?

Unfortunately, no. Bronco Network is specifically for student-athletes that participate in an intercollegiate program (not club or intramural). We would encourage you to reach out to the Career Center for advice.
