Tim Cullen was a key member of the 1962 Bronco Baseball team that made it to the championship game of the College World Series. Cullen’s .365 batting average was the best in the California Intercollegiate Baseball Association during that season and he led his team in triples. Cullen was named to both the All-CIBA and All-NCAA District 8 (Pacific Coast) teams. In his senior year, he was a Second-Team All-American at third base. He later played six seasons in the MLB for the Washington Senators, Chicago White Sox, and Oakland Athletics. Cullen also played basketball at Santa Clara, averaging 10 points as a starter during his junior year. He was inducted into Santa Clara’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1976.
