John “Jack” Gough was one of Santa Clara’s hardest workers on the court. Gough did not have all of the intangibles, yet could spark any rally or scoring spree with his leadership. His energy had such a positive effect on his teammates that opponents rated him as one of the most outstanding forwards on the Coast.
