Ron Modeste played defensive end for Santa Clara’s during the first half of the 1950s. After his career as an athlete, in 1962 Modeste tried his hand at coaching. He became affectionately known as “Coach Mo” while coaching for the legendary Pat Malley. Coach Mo helped Santa Clara achieve excellence on the football field until the 1990s. Modeste was inducted into Santa Clara’s Hall of Fame in 1998.
