Richard Troedson was an outstanding pitcher for the Broncos. Troedson made First Team All-WCAC every year while at Santa Clara. He was Second Team All-American for his successful junior season. And named WCC Player of the Year and made the Rawlings WCC 40th Anniversary team his senior year. After graduating from Santa Clara, Troedson was drafted in the first round to the San Diego Padres. During his two-season career, Troedson posted a 8–10 record with a 4.74 earned run average in 65 appearances, including 19 starts, two complete games and two saves.
