I am focused on understanding the physiological processes by which neural activity produces behavior, and more specifically, how dysfunctional neural circuitry leads to aberrant behavior. My primary research interest is the behavioral and neurobiological mechanisms by which aversive events can contribute to the development of substance abuse-related disorders.
