The John B. Drahmann Academic Advising and Learning Resources Center provides undergraduate students with holistic academic support and connection to intellectual disciplines that lead to meaningful futures.

The Drahmann Center is home for undergraduate academic advising and provides academic support in collaboration with assigned faculty advisors. We are equipped to discuss the process of advising and registration, Core Curriculum, major, and minor course planning. In addition, we also provide academic learning resources and tutoring services.

Winter 2026

During week one (January 5-9), all academic advising appointments will be on a drop-in, first come first serve basis in Kenna 101. There will be no appointments available on Workday.

Petition to Overload Form - Winter 2026

Deadline to request an Overload- January 9, 2026 at 3:00PM (PDT)

Students may enroll in up to 19 units per quarter.
Students who meet one of the following can overload up to 25 units without approval:
- Be in the University Honors Program
- Have a cumulative SCU GPA of 3.3 or higher
Juniors and seniors who do not meet these criteria may request an overload by completing this form.

Drahmann Center Advisors will begin accepting requests starting Monday, January 5, 2026. The process may take up to 2 business days.

The course must be open. If the course is closed, the student must have email approval from either the academic department or instructor to add the closed course.

If the overload request is approved by the Drahmann Center, the student will be copied on the email requesting enrollment. If the request is denied, the student will receive an email explaining why the request was denied.

Overload for 2-unit or 1 Unit Courses:

One 2-unit course or two 1-unit courses may be added to 19 units and are not considered overload units. An additional one 2-unit class or two 1-unit courses can be added to 19 units via the online form - https://scu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4ONLwZvm75T6vRz.
