βIn the email sent directly to students, updates were shared on these critical enrollment steps. Here's an example of what that looks like:
- Your Orientation registration is incomplete. Sign up for Orientation as soon as possible!
- If you're planning to live on campus, apply for housing at SCU right away. Housing is limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis, but there is still space available!
π» Do this before Orientation: Workday onboarding required
Many students have not yet completed their Workday onboarding steps, which has resulted in holds being placed on their accounts. All onboarding steps must be completed in order to enroll in Fall Quarter classes. Please take care of this as soon as possible - or double-check that everything has been completed by logging into Workday and clicking the inbox icon in the top right corner. If these steps aren't finished before your Orientation session, you won't be able to register for classes and will need to wait until September.

π΅ Student Money Matters
There are a number of financial matters to be aware of as you begin your SCU journey. Here are a few campus-specific things to help you get started:
Financial Responsibility - Students are responsible for all charges billed to their account and for knowing payment deadlines, regardless of who pays the bill. Information on deadlines and policies is available online, and the One Stop office is available to answer any questions you have (follow them on Instagram: @scu_onestop). You can also refer to the letter mailed to your home address in early July.
- If your parents, legal guardian, or other supporter will be paying the bill on your behalf, here are instructions to set up an authorized payer in Workday.
- The Fall bill is available August 3, with a payment deadline of August 21. Since your Orientation Session is scheduled for late August and you will not be enrolled in classes at the time of billing, your billing statement will show estimated tuition charges
- Be sure to accept your financial aid in Workday by July 24 so it is properly reflected on your August 1 billing statement.
Dining Plan Options - Learn how dining plan points work and where you can use them.
- Read the FAQs to understand what happens to unused dining points at the end of the quarter.
- Dining points operate on a declining balance system; 1 point = $1. Dining Services posts a points pacing chart to help you plan your usage through each quarter.
- If you’re living on campus, you are required to enroll in a meal plan. The deadline for Fall Quarter meal plan changes is August 3 by 5:00 PM (PDT). Changes can be requested through the housing portal.
- If you're living off campus or commuting, a standard meal plan won't be available to you. However, the Dining Plus Plan through the ACCESS Office is a great option. It allows you to dine at all campus venues tax-free, saving you 9% on every food purchase. Any unspent balance carries over from quarter to quarter and year to year through graduation. Please note that Dining Plus points are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Textbooks can be expensive! As you prepare for Fall classes, check out the SCU Campus Store for new and used textbooks, as well as digital and rental options
π Student Immunization Records Due August 1
As part of Santa Clara's commitment to caring for the whole person, we offer a variety of campus resources for student health, counseling, and well-being. One important onboarding step is submitting your immunization records.
New students are required to submit their immunization information through the My Student Health Portal, accessible via the MySCU Portal.
The deadline for submitting immunization records is August 1. Failure to meet this deadline will result in a hold being placed on your registration, which will prevent you from making changes to your class schedule
π ICYMI: Technology Set-up and ACCESS Credential
Now is the time to complete your technology setup, including claiming your SCU account to access the MySCU Portal, setting up Duo 2-Factor Authentication, and completing your Workday onboarding steps. ALL of these steps must be completed before you can enroll in classes during your Orientation session.
To set up your campus mobile credential (your ACCESS card), check your SCU email for a message from ACCESS@scu.edu with the subject line "Welcome." This email contains everything you need to upload your photo and request your account setup.
Jesuit Values - Solidarity and Kinship
SCU’s mission as a Jesuit Catholic university means that together we focus on building a community based on relationships, values, and commitment. Fostering a strong sense of community with each other, our neighbors, and the world is what we call becoming “people for and with others.”
