How do I obtain my course materials?
Order your books online at scu.bncollege.com and click the “find textbooks.” Fill in the proper information about your classes and view the required course materials for your courses. View all available formats and compare pricing before selecting the right choice for you and your learning needs. You can also purchase your textbooks through eCampus by pulling up your schedule and selecting the “purchase my materials” button.
Where is the bookstore located on campus?
We are located on the corner of The Alameda and Market Street, right next to the Benson Center and across the lawn from the Library and Learning Commons.
When is the bookstore open?
We will not be open for foot traffic but will be available for curbside pickup, Mondays- Fridays from 10 AM - 4 PM
Should I opt for curbside pickup or shipping?
If you live on campus or nearby, please feel free to select curbside pickup. If you live further from campus, please take an advantage of the free domestic shipping in the United States for orders over $49
Will the bookstore ship course materials abroad? What is the cost?
Yes, the bookstore can ship course materials abroad. The cost of shipping depends on the destination and will be calculated at the time of the check out. If you have further questions regarding international shipping, please email us at email@example.com and we’ll be happy to help!
How should international-based students proceed if they do not have a U.S. phone number when completing the shipping information?
You will need to have a US number to complete an order. If you do not have a US phone number, please use our store number at 408-554-2356 as a substitute. Don’t worry, if we need to contact you in regards to your order we will email you!
Are students able to access electronic versions of books?
Yes, 40% of the titles being used in the fall quarter are available in a digital format. We highly recommend getting a digital version of your textbook when available. You will be able to see all available conditions on the drop down menu next to the title on our website, as pictured below:
Are there alternative methods of delivery for access codes (rather than mailing) for international students?
Alternative methods of delivery for access codes will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out with specific inquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org.
How does curbside pickup work?
Once you select the curbside option for your order, you will be prompted to download our app. In the app you will be notified when your order is ready for pickup and you will be able to tell us when you are on your way and when you have arrived. Curbside pickup will be available at the side entrance which faces the library and the Bronco statue. Once you have arrived, we will bring your order out to you. Please note, you will have to come to the side entrance to pick up your order, we do not have the ability to do a curbside drop off.
Should I really download the app?
It is highly recommended, especially if you choose the curbside pickup option. You can download it by going to the app store and searching for MyCollegeBookstore or by clicking here.
How do book rentals work?

What’s an access code? Do I really need it?
An access code is a one-time use supplemental course material typically used to assign various assignments and quizzes. Some professors require them but not all, so talk to your professor or check your syllabus before purchasing the access codes.
How can I sell back my books?
We are currently unable to buy back books at the store. However you are able to sell back to our wholesale distributor by clicking here.
Can I price match to Chegg?
No, but we do price match with Amazon.com and BN.com. The book must be the same condition and in stock on the website. Contact us for more information as terms and conditions apply
Can I use my ACCESS card to pay for course materials?
You can click use your student account (via ACCESS card) to pay for course materials by choosing the access card button on the payment page. Input your six-digit access card number. You must have funds in your FLEX account to purchase from the bookstore.
I don’t think I’ll use my books in class, can I return them?
You have the FIRST WEEK of classes to return your course materials for a full refund. You must have the original receipt and the course materials must be in the original condition. For example, if you are trying to return an access code, the code must be unopened and unused. Last day to receive a full refund for the Fall Quarter is 09/25/20.
If you are returning by mail, please note we do not provide return shipping labels. We understand shipping times may be delayed so as long as the package is postmarked by 09/25/20, you will still receive a full refund.
I dropped my class; can I return my books?
If you dropped your course you can return your textbooks for a full refund by the drop date, but you must show us proof of the drop. The drop date for the fall quarter is 11/06/20.
Can I use a gift card to pay for textbooks?
You can use a Barnes & Noble gift card to purchase textbooks. If you are wanting to rent a book, we do require a credit card on file for accidents/damage (the card will not be charged unless the book is not returned or is returned in a damaged state).
How do I PRICE MATCH my textbooks?
The following conditions apply for the Price Match Program:
- Textbook must be in stock and availble to ship immediately.
- Price advertised must be the exact book: condition, format, including all materials like workbooks, CDs, etc. (we recommend searching by book ISBN number, not author/title).
- Price matching applies to same-condition items, used to used book, new book to new book, used rental to used rental.
- New rental textbooks cannot be price matched since Amazon and BN.com do not rent new textbooks, only used.
