Advisory Board Profiles

Andrew Nguyen
Dr. Andrew Nguyen established and currently leads Roche’s first global medical informatics team as the Section Head of Medical Informatics.  He also leads the Data Architecture and Informatics Capability for Roche’s Real World Data Hub.  In addition to his leadership experience, he is also an expert in leveraging real world data across the healthcare value chain so patients can get the right treatment at the right time. 
 
Dr. Nguyen has worked at multiple companies in software engineering, and computer and network security, for several years before cofounding klaraHealth in 2012 and qlaro in 2017, where he was also the Chief Technology Officer.  Prior to Genentech/Roche, he was the Chair for the Department of Health Professions, and also the Program Director and tenured Associate Professor in Health Informatics at the University of San Francisco.  He is currently an Adjunct Research Associate Professor in the Department of Health Services Administration and Policy under the College of Public Health at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 
 
Dr. Nguyen holds a Ph.D. in Biological and Medical Informatics from UC San Francisco, and recently authored the book, "Hands-On Healthcare Data: Taming the Complexity of Real-World Data", published by O’Reilly Media, Inc.
