Gerardo Noriega

Gerardo is an accomplished entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in developing and manufacturing medical devices. He is the founder of ReVascular Therapeutics which was recently acquired by Boston Scientific as well as the founder of GVMED, LUTS Technologies and most recently YAWA-Med. Gerardo’s breadth of knowledge in Class II and Class III medical device design includes the following disciplines: Cardiovascular, Neurovascular, Ophthalmic, Urology and Gynecology as well as Spinal, Obesity and Dentistry. The extensive knowledge in the various fields of medicine makes him a unique entrepreneur who has been able to successfully cross-pollinate among the many life science disciplines. As a consultant, Gerardo has helped over 30 companies in the design and development of medical devices and contributed to the US FDA clearance / approval for many of them. Gerardo’s distinguished career includes involvement at Target Therapeutics (Acquired by BSC), Cardiometrics (Acquired by Volcano), CVIS (Acquired by BSC), PAS (Acquired by TYCO). Because of his extensive exposure to various developing technologies, Gerardo has successfully been able to demonstrate rapid proof of concept by introducing products for assessment at clinical centers worldwide.

Gerardo has been able to successfully raise money from many sources including venture capitalists as well as private individuals. He has a BS degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from San Jose State University and is affiliated with UCSF and SFVA Cardiovascular Centers, Stanford BioEngineering, as well as Santa Clara University’s Bioengineering Department where he serves as a Senior Project Judge, as well as lecturer and advisor.
