In terms of the general election campaign, I will be looking for how the candidates can build coalitions and bring communities together and begin to role model a more civil dialogue and discourse. The primary fight on both sides has created a level of divisiveness that has not been healthy for our country. We need to get to a point that we can have an honest discussion of issues and perspectives without engaging in personal insults. We can disagree on substance, but we need to role model what it means to come together to solve the challenges facing our country and our communities.
