2/11/22 - WD Student Change Management Team Updates

Dear Members of the Santa Clara Community:

Last quarter the Workday Student Change Management team conducted several listening sessions with faculty and staff to hear concerns and hopes for how the new Workday Student system can meet their needs.  We learned a lot - most importantly, we learned that you want to be heard and to participate in the process.

Toward that end, we wanted to update you on how we are moving forward with some of the next steps we outlined in our December email.

  1. Website: With the help of the SCU marketing team, we have created a WD Student Resource Page for faculty, staff and students. Visit this page often for updates on the implementation, videos from the SCU project team and FAQs.  This will also be your resource for training with detailed guides and opportunities to  sign up for specific training sessions.  We want this site to help the SCU community better understand and prepare for Workday Student.
  2. Working in Workday: Engagement Sessions: More than 125 of our colleagues are working hard on designing and testing different functions of Workday Student, and we expect to be able to hold sessions in April where you can see and use some tools.  These sessions will be critical to ensuring that Workday Student serves the SCU Community effectively.  Be on the lookout for invitations to these Engagement Sessions.
  3. Recruiting a Transition Team: In the coming weeks, we will be reaching out to selected faculty and staff to participate on the Transition Team.  The Transition Team will meet monthly to see and hear updates about SCU’s implementation of Workday Student, ask questions and provide feedback, and bring information back to their units.

We know change can be hard - and we’ve dealt with so much over the past couple of years.  The goal of the Change Management Team is to support the SCU Community through another transition with timely and relevant information and resources.  Please do reach out if you have questions, concerns, suggestions, and/or ideas for ways to be involved.

We hope you get to spend some time this weekend enjoying some football (and ads!) and this unseasonably warm California weather!

Stay safe!
