Lloyd Pierce was a four-year letterwinner on the SCU Men’s Basketball Team. Pierce was also an Honorable Mention All-West Coast Conference selection at the guard position during his senior year. He averaged 7.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game during his career. As a senior, he led a Bronco defensive effort that paced the WCC in forced turnovers with 18.0 per game. Pierce scored a career-high 28 points in an exhilarating 77-71 win over Pepperdine during the ‘97-’98 season. After graduating from Santa Clara in 1998 with a degree in Business Management, Pierce played professionally in Mexico, Australia, and Germany for four seasons. After his time abroad, Pierce returned to Santa Clara to join the Men’s Basketball coaching staff. He served as one of Dick Davey’s assistant coaches from 2002-2007 before going on to perform in various coaching roles for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies, and Philadelphia 76ers.
