Young was inducted into the Santa Clara University Athletic Hall of Fame for his contributions to the Bronco Basketball program. Young led his team with 11.8 points per game during their Final Four run in 1952. James Young was First Team All-WCC and NABC All-District Second Team in 1954. He is 32nd on the All-time Points list at SCU with 1,016 career points.
