Bronco Student Health Clinic Services

The Bronco Student Health Clinic, located in the Sutter University Square Care Center, will offer a broad range of services focused on prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of health.  The transition of services reflects our continued commitment to making healthcare accessible, convenient, and responsive to student needs. All degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students at Santa Clara University will have access to the following services regardless of their health insurance plan.


Acute and Same-Day Care

  • Treatment of common student illnesses (cold, flu, strep throat, COVID-like symptoms) 
  • Minor injuries (sprains, strains, cuts) 
  • Fever, respiratory issues
  • Allergic reactions and asthma management 
  • Inhalation/nebulizer therapy
  • Urinary tract infections and respiratory infections 
  • Gastrointestinal issues (food poisoning, stomach flu) 
  • Same-day or walk-in appointments

Preventive and Wellness Services

  • Annual physical exams and health check-ins 
  • Women’s annual health exams
  • Study abroad physicals
  • Routine screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes) 
  • Sexual health education and risk-reduction counseling

Gynecology Services and Sexual Health

  • Pap smears and pelvic exams as clinically indicated
  • Menstrual health concerns 
  • STI testing and treatment 
  • HIV testing and prevention counseling 
  • Pre Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV
  • Women's reproductive health

Mental and Behavioral Health Integration

Immunizations and Public Health Services

  • Required student vaccines (e.g., MMR, varicella, meningococcal) 
  • Seasonal flu shots and COVID-19 vaccines 
  • TB risk assessment and follow up

Diagnostic and On-Site Testing

  • Basic lab services (bloodwork, urine tests) 
  • Rapid diagnostics (e.g., strep, mono, flu, COVID) 
  • Occult blood, fecal, Hemoglobin (Hb) testing
  • Serum pregnancy tests 
  • Limited on-site diagnostics (e.g., EKG)
  • X-rays on-site

Minor Procedures

  • Simple suture repair
  • Simple foreign body removal
  • IV fluids
  • Wound care and suturing 
  • Ear irrigation (wax removal)
  • Basic orthopedic support (bracing, splinting)
  • Basic dermatologic procedures - screening and then referred as clinically indicated

Care Coordination and Referral Services

  • Referrals to specialists (e.g., dermatology, gynecology, orthopedics) 
  • Referrals for imaging and specialty testing
  • Insurance navigation/referral support

Telehealth and Digital Health

  • Virtual visits for routine or follow-up care 
  • Secure messaging with providers 
  • Prescription refills and care check-ins - Prescriptions will be prescribed by the clinicians as appropriate
  • Digital mental health tools and triage
