
Hsin-hung (Sean) Yeh is excited to join the faculty of Santa Clara University as a Chinese language lecturer, starting from the Academic Year 2020-2021. Born and raised in Taiwan, Yeh moved to the U.S. in 2010. He started teaching Chinese as a full-time instructor at Harvard University for 5 years (2010-2015) and has been teaching in Middlebury Chinese Summer School every summer since 2014. In 2015, he moved to the Bay Area and started his Ph.D. studies at Stanford University, with research interests including Chinese/Sinophone linguistics (lexical semantics, morphology, and information structure), sociolinguistics (style and language ideology/attitude), L2 Chinese pedagogy, and language proficiency assessment. He is also a certified Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) tester and Writing Proficiency Test (WPT) rater of American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). He is looking forward to working with every student and colleague at Santa Clara University!
