Meet Devin Schmidt '21
I am from Folsom, CA! I decided to stay and do my BS/MS at Santa Clara because of the amazing professors and their teaching styles at SCU. Since I know them well from my undergraduate years, I have developed relationships with the professors so this way I can get the most out of my class time.
I had actually planned ahead almost as early as my second year to do the 5 year program because I started taking graduate classes the Spring of 2018. By taking more classes during my bachelors I was able to take fewer classes and have a lighter fifth year. This has really been a huge benefit to me since last year I was focusing on work outside of classes as well since I was president of SCU's ASCE chapter.
I am still working part/full time at Biggs Cardosa Associates while completing my degree. The flexibility of after work hours classes allows me to work and get my degree while maintaining living expenses.
