Writing and the Jesuit Imagination: A Roundtable Conversation

What could a Psych Professor (Patti Simone), the editor of The Santa Clara Magazine (Steven Saum), the Business Communication Course Coordinator (Kevin Visconti), and a faculty member in Environmental Studies and Sciences (John Farnsworth) have in common with the Director of The HUB Writing Center (Denise Krane), an Assistant Professor of English (Julia Voss) and the Director of Assessment who’s also an Associate Professor of Communication (Chris Bachen)?

To find out, come see these panelists from across campus come together in an interdisciplinary conversation to discuss how and why writing happens across disciplines, classrooms, and professional communities. Influenced by our shared Jesuit context, panelists will describe the writing cultures that sustain their teaching and scholarly lives at Santa Clara University.

Students, staff, faculty all welcome and warmly invited.

Facilitators:
Simone Billings, Director of Core Writing Program
Tricia Serviss, Assistant Professor of English
Roundtable possible thanks to the generous funding of the Bannan Institute
