July 14, 2020 Message from the Associate Provost for International Programs

Colleagues,

I have great breaking news to share!  Less than an hour ago we learned that SEVP has agreed to rescind their July 6 SEVP guidance. This happened as a result of the Harvard/MIT lawsuit which SCU joined as a signatory.

I am grateful for the deans, faculty and staff across the university who worked so hard in over the past week to identify an in-person set of courses that would enable international students to remain at SCU in the fall. I am grateful to our students for their patience and engagement during this challenging time. In addition, I have been overwhelmed by the expressions of solidarity and support amidst this crisis.

Thank you so everyone who worked so hard in support of international students.  As always, immigration updates and FAQs will be added to the Global Engagement website, and we will continue to keep you informed.

In solidarity,
Susan Popko
Associate Provost for International Programs
