July 6, 2020 the U.S. Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) a sub-agency of Immigrants and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued updated guidance to schools on how we should manage F-1 student immigration records during the upcoming Fall 2020 academic term. This represents a change from the guidance issued during COVID-19 for spring and summer 2020. Global Engagement is in the process of reviewing this guidance along with expert sources to interpret for Santa Clara University.
We are in communication with academic programs to evaluate impacts to SCU’s continuing international students. We have reached out to all international students to provide support and will provide updates to international students at scu.edu/iss/covid-19 as they become available. Students are encouraged to join a Student Town Hall to discuss the guidance and answer student questions on Friday, July 10, 2020, 8am to 9am (PST). The live session will be recorded and the video will be posted to scu.edu/iss/covid-19.
