Camino de Santa Clara

Camino de Santa Clara writtenA little over 500 years ago, Ignatius of Loyola traveled 325 miles from his home in Loyola to Montserrat and Manresa, near Barcelona. And Ignatius did all of this with a leg that was not yet fully healed from the cannonball injury he suffered a year prior. Today, pilgrims travel to Spain to retrace the footsteps of Ignatius, walking those same 325 miles over the course of 30 days.

The Camino de Santa Clara is not 325 miles (shocking, right?), nor will it retrace the steps of Ignatius. However, it is designed to follow the spiritual footsteps of St. Ignatius—drawing from the content of the Spiritual Exercises and stopping at various sacred sites on the SCU campus.

Different versions of the Camino are offered each quarter for faculty and staff. Each Camino begins at 9:00 AM at the statue of Ignatius behind Kenna and concludes with donuts and coffee.
