Launched on December 1, 2021, the new Inclusive Excellence Division comprises the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX, the LEAD Scholars Program, the Office of Accessible Education, the Office for Diversity and Inclusion, the Office for Multicultural Learning (including the Rainbow Resource Center and the Multicultural Center) and the Office of the Ombuds.
The Inclusive Excellence Division brings these units together to centralize and scale efforts to serve the entire institution. We will develop a new and collaborative approach to providing holistic services to the campus community. Through this website and a new upcoming monthly newsletter to communicate about the division, new initiatives, and updates about the Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Strategic Planning Process currently underway for Santa Clara University.
The Inclusive Excellence Division will continue to work in partnership with the Mission and Ministry. Together, these two divisions will continue to partner on numerous campus-wide projects to enact our vision of inclusive justice on the Santa Clara University campus, as we work to build a more humane, just and sustainable world in our Jesuit tradition.
The Office of the University Ombuds is located organizationally in the Office of the President, and reports to the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, but the University Ombuds operates independently of all institutional reporting responsibilities. The University Ombuds is independent of existing administrative structures and submits periodic [quarterly and annual] written summaries identifying opportunities for enhancement to the campus community.
