For me, attending the National Society of Black Engineers conference was especially precious in helping me to solidify my career aspirations of working in underserved, developing, and impoverished communities both domestic and abroad. The convention experience was also helpful to a LEAD scholar like myself as it allowed me to network and begin forming relationships that I would otherwise not have been able to make. As most LEAD Scholars can attest to, this is a valuable and underappreciated aspect of developing your career.
