Koret Fellowships 2017-2018

Natali Gonzalez Fellowship 17-18
Natali Gonzalez
Biology major and French & Francophone Studies double minor, Class of 2020

I am currently considering a career as a physician or in biotechnology. I hope that
participating in research will help me decide if I would like to pursue biotechnology, and if I do, I know I want to be involved in medicine, such as performing biomedical research or engineering medical devices. For this reason, I am considering pursuing a biotechnology minor at SCU. If I do decide to stick with biotechnology, I would be applying to MS, and possibly MBS, programs. Even if I do decide to apply to medical school, I know that research would still be a valuable experience. If I decide that I would like to be a physician, I plan to apply to a DO school. I really appreciate the preventive approach practiced in osteopathic medicine and the more holistic philosophy behind it. Whatever path I decide to take, I would like to take advantage of opportunities abroad as well. I feel lucky to have grown up speaking Spanish as this expands the group of people I am able to work with and help. I also hope to graduate from SCU with a French and Francophone Studies, and I would like to further my reach by picking up more languages in the future.
