Koret Fellowships 2017-2018

Camille Hope Fellowship 17-18
Camille Hope
Marketing & Spanish double major and International Business minor, Class of 2020

I am expecting to learn and grow professionally, academically, and personally by studying abroad through CIEE’s Liberal Arts program in Seville, Spain. The courses I have chosen reflect my goals in attending this program. In choosing International Marketing, Islamic Culture and Art in Muslim Spain, Flamenco in Andalusia: Culture, Language, Music and Dance, Latin American and Spanish Literature of the Margins, and Cultural History of Spain, I will be able to further my studies of the Spanish language as well as grasping the mix of cultures, necessary for utilizing an International Business minor. I am extremely excited about the International Marketing course due to its
analyzing nature and use of case studies. Within this class I will be partaking
in a company visit, allowing me to visualize the operations behind a successful international business. Another course I am ecstatic for is Islamic Culture and Art in Muslim Spain. Part of the course readings are passages from the Koran, giving religious background to the cultural presence in Seville. I will be visiting the Real Alcazar of Seville and analyzing its architecture and aesthetic, observing how this culture has influenced the lifestyle within this beautiful city. I anticipate that with the lectures, company visit, and seeing everything the city has to offer, I will be learning more on how the rest of the world works.
