Koret Fellowships 2017-2018

Iaisha Sadat Fellowship 17-18
Iaisha Sadat
Public Health Science major, Class of 2019

Through Stanford STM Summer Program, I will receive training and certification in
basic life support (BLS) allowing me to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Along with mentorship from Stanford medical students and faculty, I will be exposed to various clinical observation opportunities and hands-on experience with anesthesia skills to foster career development in the health professions. Furthermore, I will develop a mentored capstone project that is clinical-based which will train me in leadership by pursuing my own goal. In addition, I will interact with attending physicians, residents, medical students and medical school admissions officers from Stanford University. This program will deepen my knowledge of medicine and healthcare which I can carry with me when I apply to physician schools and practice as a physician assistant. I will be better prepared and thus more competent and confident in my skills to pursue a career in STEM and medicine.
